This may be the cheesiest thing to do in Toronto but you’ve got to do it at least once in your life, or in my case twice. Where else are you forced to wear a colour coded paper crown, cheer on your team’s jousting knight and eat your entire dinner with your hands served by a ‘wench’? Bring on the Medieval Times.
Now I haven’t been here in over a decade, but the show has not changed at all – except I was more sober than the last time. Riding on real horses, the knights come out for rounds of competition of jousting and ‘hand to hand’ combat in which the audience cheers their knight and boos the competition. The successful knights are then given a flower by the princess and a few lucky audience members (ok just us hopeful ladies) get the honour of being given the rose. Think of it as a Medieval episode of The Bachelor. And after the show, you can hang with your Medieval hunk at the ‘Knight Club’….really.
For a whopping $70 you get dinner and a show….too steep for me but as it was Teacher’s Night and I was a guest, it was free. My recommedation is to go with kids or make sure you’re sufficiently pre-boozed
