Having moved from the UK and having an Englishman in tow this weekend, how could I possibly resist going to the Dogs Bollocks pub?  Ok how do you define ‘bollocks’?  There are a few meanings:  testicles, a swear word, nonsense or rubbish i.e.’ That’s a load of bollock’s  or ‘He was talking a load of bollocks’ BUT if you combine it with ‘it was the dogs bollocks’ it means something excellent, admired or respected i.e. ‘Your wife is the dog’s bollocks when it comes to cooking!’

As for the pub itself, I just found out that it used to be the old Gypsy Coop which was a bit of surprise. It was an interesting experience as it was slightly dingy and completely empty on a Saturday afternoon except for us, an Irishman and a Tranny. Tip: Do not even think of using the bathroom in this joint and don’t miss out on the $10 pitchers!
