Another Toronto institution is the mural outside of the iconic Lee’s Palace. First painted by Runt back in the 90s, the original mural of the iconic monsters  slowly started to  fade and chip away due to years of  abuse by pigeon poo — seriously.  Coupled with the arrival of the Big Fat Burrito (not a Toronto icon) moving into the building, the decision was made to dismantle the mural that had become a part of the Annex for over 17 years.  But in 2010, Runt returned to create a new mural in the same style of his infamous little monsters (nothing to do with Lady Gaga).  Today it’s bigger and brighter than ever and try to spot the 3 breasted mermaid — its like a game of ‘Where’s Waldo’.
