Queen St. West is Toronto’s coolest street. A great place to hang out, people watch or shop. It’s home to City TV and Much Music as well as funky boutiques, restaurants and some legendary music venues like the Horseshoe and the Bovine Sex Club.
When I lived here in the 90s, this is where it was all happening. Friday night was the fantastically cheesy `Electric Circus`, Saturday was shopping and Sunday was a pint on the Black Bull patio. The landscape has changed a bit since then as the trendy part of Queen Street West that ran from University to Bathurst has a lot more chain stores and artsy independent shops have moved further west. And the saddest thing is that Speakers corner is no more! The tragedy. Nonetheless, it`s still the best place to experience Toronto.
