Yes you read it right, pizza in a cone. I’d heard about this mysterious ‘Pizza Cone‘ and was curious to try it.
About ten years ago, the flat pizza was reinvented in Italy as this “pizza da passeggio” (walk away pizza). Last year, The Mad Italian on College Street decided to serve up these cheesey cones called the ‘Zazu’ with homemade pizza dough shaped in a cone forming machine and instead of layering the fillings, they mix and fill it with tomato sauce, cheese and your choice of pepperoni, meatballs, herbs and veggies. The filled Pizza Cone is then set upright in a holder and put into the oven and baked for 5 minutes.
It will set you back around $6, but is oh so good and now gives ‘Pizza to go’ a whole new meaning.
