Have a fondness for your Dad’s tacky plaid golf shirts or your Mom’s argyle cardigans? Wonder what ever happened to your old concert t shirts or Christmas sweater?  Walk into Preloved on Queen West and maybe you’ll find out.

Just across from Trinity Bellwood Park, Preloved sells ‘consciously created’ one of a kind clothing from reclaimed vintage fabrics. Designed and manufactured in Canada, the designers at Preloved pick quality vintage clothing which is deconstructed to be reborn as an original Preloved garment with modern cuts and style.

With a philosophy of sustainability, Preloved has reused over 80,000 wool sweaters, 50,000 wool trousers, 10,000 dress shirts and 7000 trench coats rescued from landfills in the manufacturing of their clothing. This fabric would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.

Now how can you resist a store with a conscience and retro clothes with a new twist?  Apparently I can’t as I walked out with a sweater and a belt and almost $200 poorer.  Yes its expensive for what is essentially old clothes that have been redesigned , but it’s unique and you won’t see anyone else wearing that exact same thing. Think of it as your snowflake of vintage clothing.
